Gluten-free birthday cake

Having children I needed a good birthday cake recipe that could be enjoyed by all. This has become very popular in our household and often requested at birthday parties. Sometimes I make half and bake a batch of cupcakes.
Ingredients
8oz Doves Farm Self-raising flour
8oz margarine
8oz caster sugar
4 large eggs
2 tsp gluten-free baking powder
vanilla extract
Method
1.Preheat oven to 180C
2.Cream the margarine, sugar and a few drops of vanilla extract until light and fluffy.
3.Beat in eggs 1 at a time with a spoonfull of flour/baking powder. Continue in this way until all the flour/baking powder is added and mixed well.
4.Divide into 2 greased and lined sandwich tins.
5.Bake for 20-25 minutes.
6.Leave to cool and then decorate as required.
